MILLINGTON, MICHIGAN - On June 17, several local residents were on hand at the  Millington Community Center for a Big Foot presentation by researcher Phil Shaw. Also known as Sasquatch, Big Foot reportedly inhabits forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest region of North America.According to some of the attendees at the presentation, there have been signs and sighting The Big Foot presentation will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Admission is free, but donations will be gladly accepted. This event was sponsored by the Millington-Arbela Historical Society.The presentation was sponsored by the Millinton-Arbela Historical Society.  


MEMORIAL DAY 2010

 

Honored Guests at the dedication of the new Veteran's Monument included State Representative Terry Brown, State Senator James Barcia, and Michigan American Legion Adjutant Patrick W. Lafferty, with introductions given by Leon Keinath.  The dedication speech was made by Millington American Legion Post Commander William Hoard. This year Flanders Field was presented by Millington High School senior Alex Goodhue, and I Am A Veteran by Madison Goodroe. The Gettysburg Address was presented by Adjutant Elwin Kline. Master of Ceremonies was State Trooper Gary Bonadurer. Prayers were offered by Chaplin Jay Colman and Pastor Pete Crawford of the Millington United Methodist Church. Music was provided by the Millington High School Band under the direction of Mr. Mark Van Hoose, with Millington Mayor Gailan Reinert providing some additional recorded music. A picnic lunch followed the dedication ceremony. HERALD PHOTOS.
